Forest School is a vital part of the children's learning in the Foundation Stage and we are very fortunate to have a Forest School site in our school grounds. The Forest Schools concept comes originally from Scandinavia where there has been a long tradition of encouraging young children to play and learn in the outdoors.
Click here to view a video of a group of Year 1 children from Charlbury School, Oxfordshire, as they make one of their regular visits to a local wood. The children have been learning about the environment, how to assess and handle risks, how they can use their own initiative to solve problems and how to co-operate with others.
Below are some photos of our pupils enjoying Forest School on our school site.
